Insights from Coach Rhulani: Teboho Mokoena's Stellar Performance at AFCON Resolves PSL Debate

Rhulani Mokwena took time to discuss the upcoming preparation for the second half of the DSTV premiership and how Bafana Bafana made the country proud at AFCON. Rhulani was asked why

is Bafana not playing the way Sundowns normally play. Rhulani was not willing to give details. Rhulani is adamant that only coach Broos is in a better position to answer the question because he is the one coaching the national team . He refrained from giving more details out of respect for coach Broos.

Different coaches prefer different tactics as the tournaments are not the same. Broos was planning for each match differently, Bafana had a strong defence, however the strikers failed to capitalise on a great opportunity. Broos will need to get a great striker who is willing to die for his country and show consistency.

Many people questioned why Teboho Mokoena was awarded the Player of the Season award last season. One could say Rowen Williams deserved the award after he kept a significant number of clean sheets last season.

Both Mokoena and Williams showed character during the AFCON tournament by carrying the team when it mattered most.

 "I think now we can close the debate on why Teboho Mokoena is player of the season, after his performance at AFCON, He showed his class with his performances at this Afcon. ," said Rhulani

Rhulani also sang praise for the other players who raised their hands during the AFCON tournament. Rhulani sang praise for the likes of Ronwen Williams for doing exceptionally well between the sticks.

He congratulated Mvala and Grant Kekana for doing well against Victor Osimhen. They troubled the defence at some point but failed to play his usual game. Rhulani recon they did well against African Footballer of the Year.
